Every year, Southcentral Kentucky Neighborhood and Technical School (SKYCTC) selects a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. This award acknowledges graduates and former college students for his or her successes and exemplary service to their professions and communities. Hundreds of working professionals in South Central Kentucky and past obtained their training and coaching from SKYCTC, and you can see our graduates working for companies in quite a few industries, together with healthcare, building, superior manufacturing, and transportation. This 12 months’s winner is a testomony to how a neighborhood faculty training will be an entry level to greater training desires and profession achievement.
Our Distinguished Alumni Award winner for 2023 is Alyssa Brasel. Alyssa attended SKYCTC from 2012 to 2014 and was additionally employed as a scholar employee within the Admissions Division. After graduating in 2014 along with her Affiliate in Arts diploma, Alyssa attended the College of Louisville and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
She continued her work in greater training and have become an Admissions Officer for a number of Texas universities. Throughout this time, she was accepted to Northeastern College College of Skilled Research, the place she earned a Grasp of Science in International Research and Worldwide Relations with a focus in Battle Decision. This led her to a profession in worldwide affairs.
Alyssa started work for a personal firm the place her function concerned international disaster administration and safety. She then transitioned to her present function as a Consular and Passport Officer of the Embassy of Australia in Washington, D.C., the place she successfully prepares for and manages abroad crises whereas aiding Australians abroad as an officer for the Division of Overseas Affairs and Commerce.
